Hichem Mokni

"I would like to meet Madame Angela Merkel and ask her how she was able to build cooperation and a minimum trust between competitive stakeholders, either locally or internationally. I think that this is the exercise that leaders need to understand and practice."

After his diploma in computer science from Tunisia in 2006, Hichem Mokni continued with a master degree at RWTH Aachen and joined the aerial vision team of Fraunhofer Institute FKIE for 7 years, where he worked on different airborne remote sensing systems. Back in Tunisia in 2018, he joined Avionic as R&D director, an ultralight aircraft manufacturer, working on transforming the produced aircraft into a turnkey system for aerial photography and cartography. Currently, he is the CEO of NextAV, a Tunisian startup that he co-founded in 2021, developing remote sensing solutions (satellite and airborne) powered with the latest AI technologies, data analysis, scientific interpretation, and 3D software visualization.
Thanks to its own developed super resolution technics, the startup is relying on public open satellite data, offering economically viable monitoring and inspection services for customers assets, with a revisit time of 5 days at most, all over the year. NextAV positions itself as an ESGtech startup, with strong commitment for environmental, social and governance goals.
