By 2030, 25 percent more goods will be transported by rail than today. New routes and longer trains require both long lead-times and considerable capital investment. Protostellar's solution focuses on speed: Digitisation facilitates access to containers and makes better use of existing infrastructure. Data from various sources are conjoined -- for example, from rail-transport companies or ports. Data is then combined in such a way that customers obtain full transparency, thereby reducing manual activities.
The basic model is free of charge. Premium features may be booked as an option. Customers have the opportunity to test the service for one month free of charge and thereby independently evaluate whether they offer added value. With this business model, Protostellar has a unique selling proposition and meets the needs of the industry, especially during the corona pandemic. In the first two months of this year alone, the customer base increased by 400 percent.
